Main Crash Pad Replacement

CAUTION:
  • When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  1. Remove the following items.
    1. Front seat

      Refer to FRONT SEAT .

    2. Front pillar trim

      Refer to Front Pillar Trim Replacement .

    3. Floor console assembly

      Refer to CONSOLE .

    4. Front door scuff trim

      Refer to Door Scuff Trim Replacement .

    5. Cowl side trim

      Refer to Cowl Side Trim Replacement .

    6. Crash pad side cover
    7. Crash pad lower panel
    8. Crash pad garnish (LH, RH)
    9. Cluster fascia panel & Cluster assembly
    10. Heater control unit
    11. Center fascia upper panel
    12. Audio assembly
    13. Glove box & Glove box housing
    14. Steering column

    Refer to STEERING COLUMN AND SHAFT .

  2. After loosening the mounting screws, then remove the center fascia lower panel (A).

  3. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the center speaker grille (A).

  4. After loosening the mounting screws, then remove the center speaker (A).
  5. Disconnect the center speaker connector (B).

  6. Disconnect the passenger's airbag connector (A).
  7. Loosen the mounting bolts.

  8. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the photo sensor (A).
  9. Disconnect the photo sensor connector (B).

  10. Disconnect the side speaker connector (A).

  11. After loosening the mounting bolts and nuts, then remove the main crash pad assembly (A).

  12. Installation is the reverse of removal.
NOTE:
  • Make sure the crash pad fits onto the guide pins correctly.
  • Before tightening the bolts, make sure the crash pad wire harnesses are not pinched.
  • Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the antenna lead is connected properly.
  • Enter the anti-theft code for the radio, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
