Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
WARNING:
On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, you must thoroughly read and follow all High Voltage Safety procedures. In addition, before performing any diagnostic or service procedure near a high voltage component, you must perform the High Voltage Power Down. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

Read the HIGH-VOLTAGE SAFETY PROCEDURES. Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE SAFETY PROCEDURES .

When the HIGH-VOLTAGE POWER-DOWN PROCEDURE is necessary. Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE POWER DOWN .
1. With the scan tool, read Battery Pack Control Module (BPCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.
2. Record the Freeze Frame Data (If available), Event Data (If available), and Environmental Data.
3. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
  NOTE:
  Most BPCM DTCs will require the EVSE to be disconnected in order to clear.
4. Using the recorded data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
5. With the scan tool, read BPCM DTCs.
  Did the DTC return?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
CHECK FOR COOLANT PUMP DTCS
1. Refer to the recorded Vehicle Scan Report.
  Are the any related coolant pump DTCs?
  
  Yes
  - Repair the coolant pump DTCs in accordance with the Service Information and recheck operation.
  - Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to HV VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 3
CHECK THE BATTERY PACK COOLING LOOP AND COMPONENTS FOR CONCERNS
1. Check the HV Battery Coolant Loop for low coolant. Fill with proper coolant and check for leaks.
2. Check the HV Battery Coolant Loop for restrictions in pipes and rubber hoses, and pumps. Repair as necessary.
3. Check the HV Battery Coolant Loop for proper coolant pump operation and impeller operation. Repair as necessary.
  Were any problems founds with the HV Battery Pack Cooling Loop?
  
  Yes
  - Repair as necessary. Clear DTCs and recheck for this DTC.
  No
  - Load test all powers and grounds to the BPCM repair if necessary and retest. If all powers and grounds are ok, replace the Primary and Secondary High Voltage Battery Packs in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  - Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to HV VERIFICATION TEST .
