EGR Cooler: Removal

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to: 2.0L ENGINE - DRAINING .
  2. Remove the left front wheel splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) tube. Refer to: TUBE, EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to: 2.0L ENGINE - CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Remove the oil drain tube from the turbocharger. Refer to 2.0L ENGINE - LINES, TUBES AND HOSES, TURBOCHARGER, OIL AND COOLANT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    2 - EGR Cooler Bolts
    3 - EGR Cooler
  6. Remove the EGR cooler coolant outlet hose from the EGR cooler.
  7. Remove the bolts and the low pressure EGR cooler.
  8. Remove the O-ring and the gasket of the low pressure EGR cooler.
