Sensor, Oil Pressure And Temperature: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the Accessory drive belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the bolts securing the generator and set aside to gain access to the sensor.

  5. Disconnect the wire harness connector (1) from the engine oil pressure and temperature sensor (2).
  6. Unscrew and remove the engine oil pressure and temperature sensor (2).

  7. Remove the sealant residues from the threaded hole on the engine block.
