Converter, Catalytic: Installation

  1. Install a NEW  gasket (1) on the catalytic converter (2).

  2. Install the catalytic converter to the turbocharger using NEW  bolts (1) and NEW  nuts (1) and tighten finger tight.

  3. Install the catalytic converter support bracket (2) and tighten the six bolts (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install the cross under pipe. Refer to PIPE, EXHAUST CROSSUNDER, INSTALLATION .

  5. Tighten the catalytic converter bolts (1) and nuts (3) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Install the EGR tube. Refer to TUBE, EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR), INSTALLATION .

  7. Install the catalytic converter heat shield (2) and tighten the bolts (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  8. Install the upstream and downstream oxygen sensor. Refer to SENSOR, OXYGEN, INSTALLATION .
  9. Install the pressurized coolant bottle. Refer to BOTTLE, PRESSURIZED COOLANT, INSTALLATION .
  10. Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, INSTALLATION .
