WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the top and side engine covers. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL
.
- Disengage the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose (1) from the retainer (2) on the turbocharger air outlet pipe.
- Disconnect the quick couplings and remove the PVC hose (1).
- Disengage the Closed Crankcase Ventilation (CCV) hose (3) and the surge valve hose (5) from the retainer (4) on the turbocharger air outlet pipe.
- Disconnect the quick couplings and remove the CCV hose (3).
- Loosen the band clamp and remove the surge hose (5) from the surge valve.
- Unlock and disconnect the turbo boost pressure sensor wire harness connection (1).
- Unlock and disconnect the air temperature sensor wire harness connection (2).
- Unlock and disconnect the surge valve wire harness connection (3).
- Remove the bolt (1) securing the turbocharger air outlet pipe to the cylinder head cover.CAUTION:
Avoid possible damage to the air temperature sensor when the turbocharger air outlet pipe is removed with the sensor still installed in the pipe.
- Loosen the clamp (3) at the turbocharger outlet and pull the turbocharger air outlet pipe (1) away from the turbocharger.
- Loosen the clamp (2) at the throttle body inlet and remove the turbocharger air outlet pipe (1) from the throttle body.
- If required, Loosen the clamp (1) and remove the throttle body air inlet hose from the turbocharger air outlet pipe (3).
- If required, loosen the clamp (2) and remove the turbocharger air outlet hose (1) from the turbocharger air outlet pipe (3).
- If required, remove the bolt (1) and remove the turbo boost pressure sensor (2) from the turbocharger air outlet pipe (4).
- If required, loosen and remove the air temperature sensor (3) from the turbocharger air outlet pipe (4). Refer to SENSOR, AIR TEMPERATURE, INLET, REMOVAL
.
- If required, remove the three bolts (2) and remove the surge valve (1).
