Diagnostic Test

- CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL
- Check the transmission fluid level in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to CHECK FLUID LEVEL
.
Is the transmission fluid at the correct level?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Correct the transmission fluid level.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
- Check the transmission fluid level in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to CHECK FLUID LEVEL
.
- READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN
- With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
- With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- REPLACE THE TORQUE CONVERTER
- Replace the Torque Converter in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to TORQUE CONVERTER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- With the scan tool, erase TCM DTCs.
- Road test the vehicle and check for DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace the Transmission in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to 8HP75 TRANSMISSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
- Test Complete.
