Diagnostic Test

1. With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and record on the repair order.
2. With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
3. NOTE: A front door must remain open whenever checking or erasing Radio DTCs. 
4. With the scan tool, record and erase the Radio DTCs.
5. Cycle the ignition switch from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on.
6. Turn the Radio on and set the volume to 25.
7. Adjust the speakers to the front and center.
8. With the scan tool, read the active Radio DTCs.

Did the DTC return?

Yes 

• Go To  2

No 

• Perform the appropriate INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .

1. Make sure that one of the front doors are open when performing the diagnostic test.
2. Turn the ignition off.
3. Disconnect the Antenna connector at the back of the Radio.
4. Inspect the Antenna connections.

   Are the Antenna connections clean and secure?

   Yes 

   • Go To  3

   No 

   • Repair the Antenna connection as needed.
   • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

1. Connect the test antenna (special tool #9977-6-GPS-GLO, Antenna, GPS GLONASS) to the antenna connection on the back of the Radio.
2. Make sure one of the front doors is still open.
3. With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. Turn the Radio on.
6. With the scan tool, read Radio DTCs.
   NOTE:

   While using the GPS test antenna the Cellular reception will not be available and radio faults may occur. The GPS test tool will only enable GPS reception to work.

   Does the scan tool read: B1562-13-GPS ANTENNA-CIRCUIT OPEN?

   Yes 

   • Replace the Radio in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to RADIO, REMOVAL .
   • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

   No 

   • Go To  4

1. Disconnect the Antenna cable at the base.
2. Connect the appropriate (special tool #9977-6-1, Adapter) or (special tool #9977-6-3, Adapter) to the Antenna cable at the back of the Radio.
3. Connect the appropriate (special tool #9977-6-4, Jumper) or (special tool #9977-6-2, Jumper) to the Antenna cable at the Antenna base.
4. Measure the Resistance across the tool terminals.

   Is the resistance above 52.5 Ohms?

   Yes 

   • Use the (special tool #9977-6, Kit, Radio Antenna Diagnostic) to locate the open circuit. Repair or replace the Antenna cable as necessary.
   • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

   No 

   • Replace the Antenna base in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to ANTENNA, SATELLITE, AUDIO, REMOVAL .
   • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
