Body - Interior & Exterior: Interior: Headliner: Removal
NOTE:
In the event the headliner is damaged or creased during removal, it will need to be replaced with a new headliner.
NOTE:
Use clean gloves or ensure hands are clean before removing the headliner.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Support the headliner with a clean and suitable prop.
- Remove the A-pillar trim panels. Refer to PANEL, A-PILLAR TRIM, REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the headliner wire harness (2) from the vehicle harness (1) on both sides.
- If equipped, remove the overhead console (3). Refer to CONSOLE, OVERHEAD, FRONT, REMOVAL .
- Remove both sided visors and visor supports. Refer to SUPPORT, VISOR, REMOVAL . Refer to VISOR, REMOVAL .
- Remove the front and rear grab handles (2). Refer to HANDLE, GRAB, REMOVAL .
- Detach the headliner wire harness from the A-pillar.
- Disconnect the rear washer hose (2).
- Remove the B-pillar trim panels. Refer to PANEL, B-PILLAR TRIM, REMOVAL .
- Remove the upper quarter trim panels. Refer to PANEL, QUARTER TRIM, REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the wire harness connector (2) and separate the rear support clips (1).
- Release the support clips (2) and release the wire harness (1).
- Disconnect the rear washer hose (1) and wire harness connectors (2) at rear of headliner.
- Release the front clips (1) and with the help of an assistant, remove the headliner (2) through the liftgate opening.
- On sunroof models, release the front clips (4), release the dual lock fasteners (1) around the sunroof opening, and disconnect the wire harness connector (2).
- Remove the headliner (3) through the liftgate opening.
- If reinstalling the same headliner, place in a clean area free from dirt and debris.
