Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the vibration damper. Refer to DAMPER, VIBRATION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .

4. Using the (Special Tool No. 2066500090, Front Crankshaft Seal Remover) (1), remove the crankshaft front cover oil seal.

INSTALLATION 

1. Clean the pocket of the timing chain cover and clean the crankshaft end.

2. Using the (Special Tool No. 2031500091, Installer, Crank Seal - Front) (1a), fit a new crankshaft front cover oil seal (1b).
3. Make sure the seal is fully seated, then remove the insert tool.
4. Install the vibration damper. Refer to DAMPER, VIBRATION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
6. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
