Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s) (Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ).
2. Remove the Variable Valve Actuator Assembly (VVAA). Refer to ASSEMBLY, VARIABLE VALVE ACTUATION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .

   NOTE:

   Systematically replace the rocker arms for the hydraulic lifters removed.

3. Remove the rocker arms (1) by disengaging the pin retaining clip.

INSTALLATION 

1. Check that the pins are clean.

2. Install the NEW  rocker arms (2a) between the cover lever (2b) and camshaft.
3. Position the recess (3a) on the rocker arm on the head of the pin (1).
4. Push the rocker arm (2a) lightly onto the pin (1) to engage the retaining clip (4a).
5. Install the Variable Valve Actuator Assembly (VVAA). Refer to ASSEMBLY, VARIABLE VALVE ACTUATION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .
6. Connect the negative battery cable(s) (Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ).
