Timing Chain Guides

REMOVAL 

1. Remove the timing chain cover. Refer to COVER(S), ENGINE TIMING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .

2. Push on the tensioner arm (1a) and insert a pin (1b) through the hole (1c) to hold the tensioner piston in the retracted position.

3. Remove the bolts (1a) and the short timing chain guide (1b).

4. Remove the bolts (1a) and the long timing chain guide (1b).

INSTALLATION

1. Install the long timing chain guide (1a) and tighten the timing chain guide bolts (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

2. Install the short timing chain guide (1a) and tighten the timing chain guide bolts (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
3. Hold the tensioner arm against the tensioner piston, remove the lock pin and release the tensioner arm.
4. Install the timing chain cover. Refer to COVER(S), ENGINE TIMING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .
