Disassembly And Assembly: Notes

DISASSEMBLY 

1. Remove the cylinder head. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .

2. Install the Cylinder Head Overhaul Support 1860470000 (1) to the turbocharger mounting studs on the cylinder head.

3. Remove the bolts (1) and the thermostat.

4. Remove the bolt (1) and the camshaft position (CMP) sensor heat shield.

5. Remove the CMP sensor (1).

6. Remove the bolts (1) and remove the high pressure fuel pump complete with roller tappet.

7. Remove the Multiair actuator oil supply filter (1).
8. Remove the four spark plugs.

ASSEMBLY 

1. Install the Multiair actuator oil supply filter and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
2. Install the spark plugs and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
3. Install the high pressure fuel pump complete with roller tappet onto the cylinder head and tighten the bolts to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
4. Install the camshaft position (CMP) sensor with heat shield and securely tighten the bolt.
5. Install the thermostat with a NEW  O-ring and tighten the bolts to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
6. Remove the cylinder head from the Cylinder Head Overhaul Support 1860470000.
7. Install the cylinder head. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .
