Water Pump: Removal

CAUTION:
Do not rotate the crankshaft using the damper bolt. The bolt has left-hand threads and can be inadvertently loosened resulting in loss of camshaft timing. Only rotate the damper itself in a clockwise direction (as viewed from the front).
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the engine cover.
- Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL .
- Remove the both front wheelhouse splash shields. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL .
- Remove the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, REMOVAL .
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING THE COOLING SYSTEM - 1.3L

- Release the retainer (1a) and position the hose (1b) aside.
- Release the retainer (1a) and position the hose (1b) aside.
- Remove the bolts (2) and the water pump cover (1).
- Remove the bolts (1a) and remove the water pump (1b).
