Removal And Installation: Installation

- If removed, install and compress the strut spring in the compressor.
- Assemble the strut with the boot and jounce bumper.
- Install the upper strut mount (1a) and tighten the strut rod to strut mount nut (1b) by using (special tool #2027800020, Kit, Remover - Installer Shock / Strut) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Remove the strut from the compressor.
- Position the strut (1a) into the vehicle.
- Install NEW
strut to body bolts (1b) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install and tighten the strut to knuckle bolts (1) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the stem into the strut, and tighten the NEW sway bar link to strut nut (2) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the Electric Park Brake (EPB) harness to the strut.
- Install the wheel speed sensor harness to the strut.
- Install the brake hose to the strut and install the retainer clip.
- If removed, install the vapor canister. Refer to CANISTER, VAPOR, INSTALLATION, 1.3L or CANISTER, VAPOR, INSTALLATION, 2.4L .
- Install the rear wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, REAR WHEELHOUSE, INSTALLATION .
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Perform vehicle alignment. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
