Removal And Installation: 4X4: Installation

  1. Position the rear knuckle to the front and rear lower control arms and the rear trailing link. Install the fasteners (1, 2, 3), but DO NOT TIGHTEN AT THIS TIME. 
  2. Position a support jack under the rear knuckle.

  3. Using the support jack, position the rear knuckle (1) to the proper specification. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  4. Tighten the NEW  front lower control arm fastener (1) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Tighten the rear lower control arm fastener (1) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Tighten the rear trailing link fastener (2) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  7. Position the support jack until the rear knuckle and rear strut lower mounting holes are aligned. Install the rear strut lower fasteners (1).

  8. Tighten the rear strut lower fasteners (1) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  9. Install the wheel speed senor (1) to the rear knuckle. Install and tighten the wheel speed sensor fastener (1) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  10. Install the rear hub and bearing assembly. Refer to HUB AND BEARING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  11. Align the brake rotor shield to the rear knuckle.
  12. Install the brake rotor shield fasteners and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  13. Install the rear brake rotor. Refer to ROTOR, BRAKE, REAR, INSTALLATION .
  14. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  15. Remove the support jack and lower the vehicle.
  16. Perform a wheel alignment. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
