Removal And Installation: Installation

NOTE:

When inserting the ball joint stud into the steering knuckle use caution to not over-insert the stud past the point necessary for installation of the steering knuckle pinch bolt. Inserting the ball joint stud too far can result in damage to the ball joint boot.

Position the ball joint (3) to the lower control arm.
Install the ball joint bolts (2) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
Pull the lower control arm down then engage the ball joint stud (3) to the steering knuckle (4).
Install the lower control arm to knuckle bolt (1) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

Inspect the lower ball joint to verify that the steel ring (1) is still seated properly in the groove of the boot (2).
Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
Remove the support and lower vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Perform a wheel alignment. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
