Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the rear fascia. Refer to FASCIA, REAR, REMOVAL  .
  4. Remove the side mounting fasteners (1a) and washers (1b).
  5. Remove the lower mounting fasteners (2a) and washers (2b).
  6. Remove the upper mounting fasteners (3a) and the hitch (3b).

  7. If necessary, remove the fastener (1a), washer (1b) and bracket (1c) from the hitch (1d).
