Removal And Installation: Installation

- Install the camshaft (1) into the cylinder head.
- Install the bearing caps (2), respecting the numbering of the cylinders stamped at the top of each cap, and tighten the camshaft cap to cylinder head bolts to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
.NOTE:
The arrow on the bearing cap "a" must point to the timing side.
- Remove the (special tool #10259B, Compressor, MultiAir® Spring) (3) from the MULTIAIR actuator.
- Install the timing chain. Refer to CHAIN AND SPROCKETS, TIMING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the cylinder head cover. Refer to COVER(S), CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the vacuum pump. Refer to PUMP, VACUUM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL (PCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- When replacing the camshaft, connect the diagnostic scan tool, enter "Active Diagnosis" and run the self-learning procedure.
