Glove Box, Instrument Panel: Removal

Remove the fasteners (1) to silencer panel (2). Lower the silencer panel enough to disconnect the wire harness connector, if equipped. Remove the silencer panel.
CAUTION:
DO NOT pry against the face of the radio, or passenger side/ignition switch bezel applique surfaces. Only pry on the OUTER perimeter of the bezel.
Remove the instrument panel center bezel. Refer to BEZEL, INSTRUMENT PANEL, CENTER, REMOVAL .

Remove the fastener (1). Using a trim stick or equivalent, remove the right side applique (2).

Using trim stick or equivalent, remove the passenger side end cap.

Separate the glove box damper (2) from the glove box by sliding the clip towards the rear of the vehicle to release it from the bin.
NOTE:
A small prybar may be used to separate the tabs from the glove box housing.
Open the glove box and carefully squeeze the inboard open stop tab (3) inward and separate the tab from the glove box housing.
Squeeze the outboard open stop tab (4) inward and separate the tab from the glove box housing and allow the glove box to rotate toward the carpet.
Rotate the box down and release the door hinges (1) at the bottom and remove the glove box.

Using (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) or equivalent, release the two rear retaining clips (2).
Pull backwards on the owners guide shelf (3) and release the shelf legs from the glove box surround (1) and remove the shelf (3).

Remove the upper fasteners (1).
Remove the lower fasteners (2).
Partial remove the glove box from the instrument panel to disconnect any wire harness connectors, if equipped.

Remove the glove box from vehicle.

NOTE:

If necessary to remove lock cylinder from glove box proceed to following steps.

Insert the key, unlock the latch and leave the key in the cylinder.

Gently pull on latch handle to expose the inside back of the latch and release pin.

Using a small punch or equivalent, push the release tab upward.

Turn the cylinder to the left (counter clockwise). Remove the punch tool and then continue to turn the key to the left until it reaches its full travel and comes to a stop.

Pull the lock cylinder out of the latch.
