Cover(S), Cylinder Head: Removal: Left

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the air cleaner body and makeup air hose. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the ignition coils. Refer to COIL, IGNITION, REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the fuel injector and ignition coil wire harness from the valve cover and position aside.

  5. Using the sequence shown in the illustration in the illustration, remove the cylinder head cover retaining bolts.

  6. Remove the cylinder head cover (1).
  7. Clean the sealing surface of the cylinder head (2).
NOTE:

The cylinder head cover gasket may be used again, provided no cuts, tears, or deformation have occurred.
