Engine Oil Change

Change the engine oil at the mileage and time intervals described in the Maintenance Schedules. Refer to MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES, DESCRIPTION .

Run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature.

1. Remove the oil fill cap.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the front skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, FRONT SUSPENSION REMOVAL .
4. Place a suitable drain pan under the oil pan drain.
5. Remove the drain plug from the oil pan and allow the oil to drain.
6. Inspect the drain plug threads for stretching or other damage and replace if necessary.
7. Install the drain plug and tighten to 27 N.m (20 ft. lbs.).
8. Install the front skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, FRONT SUSPENSION INSTALLATION .
9. Lower the vehicle and fill the crankcase with the specified type and amount of engine oil described in this article.
10. Install the oil fill cap.
11. Start the engine and check for leaks.
12. Stop the engine and check the oil level.
