Shaft, Drive, Front: Installation

NOTE:

Clean all propeller shaft bolts and apply Mopar® Lock AND Seal Adhesive or equivalent to the threads before installation.

  1. Install propeller shaft (1) between companion flanges.
  2. Align marks on the companion flanges with the marks on the joints.
  3. Install bolts to the transfer case flange and tighten bolts in a star pattern to specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install bolts to the axle flange and tighten bolts in a star pattern to specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install transmission crossmember. and remove jack stand. Refer to CROSSMEMBER, TRANSMISSION, INSTALLATION .
  6. If equipped, install skid plates. Refer to PLATE, SKID, FRONT SUSPENSION INSTALLATION .
