Seal, Output Shaft, Rear Extension: Installation

- Clean fluid residue from sealing surface and inspect for defects.
- Using Seal Installer (special tool #9041, Installer, Seal) (2) and Universal Handle (special tool #C-4171, Driver Handle, Universal) (1), install seal in rear extension.
- Install the companion flange onto the output shaft.
- Install a new companion flange nut and tighten to 176-271 N.m (130-200 ft.lbs.).
- Install propeller shaft. Refer to SHAFT, DRIVE, REAR, INSTALLATION .
- Verify proper transfer case fluid level.
- Lower vehicle.
