Seat Bottom Cushion Motor

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the appropriate seat and place it on a workbench. Refer to or SEAT, FRONT, REMOVAL .
  3. Disconnect the heated seat pad electrical connector (2) located on the seat cushion suspension.
  4. When servicing the passenger seat, remove the Comfort Seat Wheel Modules (CSWM) with bracket. Refer to MODULE, COMFORT SEAT AND WHEEL (CSWM), REMOVAL .
  5. Cut the 4 plastic fasteners that secure the vented seat motor to the seat cushion pan.
  6. Disconnect the vented seat motor electrical connector (1).

  7. Remove the seat bottom cushion cover from the seat cushion pan.
  8. Remove the seat bottom cushion (3) and cover from the seat cushion pan and place on a workbench.
  9. Using Trim Stick (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) or equivalent, carefully separate the vented seat motor (2) from the vented seat duct (3) by pulling the two components away from each other. This will disengage the 4 plastic retaining tabs and remove the motor.
