Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
1. Turn the ignition on
2. With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
  NOTE:
  It may be necessary to drive the vehicle to meet the conditions to set this DTC, try to repeat the conditions in which the fault originally set by reviewing the Freeze Frame data.
  
  Is the DTC active or pending?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
CHECK FOR OTHER DTCS
1. Refer to the recorded DTCs.
  Are there any Temperature sensor or Communication DTCs active or pending?
  
  Yes
  - Perform the applicable diagnostic procedure(s). Refer to 3.2L - DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
  No
  - Go To 3
CHECK THE BODY CONTROL MODULE FOR INTELLIGENT BATTERY SENSOR CIRCUIT DTCS
Are any Intelligent Battery Sensor Circuit DTCs set in the Body Control Module?

Yes
- Diagnose the appropriate Intelligent Battery Sensor Circuit DTC in the Body Control Module. Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
No
- Go To 4
CHECK THE VEHICLE FOR THE PROPER BATTERY APPLICATION
1. Verify that the correct Battery application is installed in the vehicle.
  Is the correct battery application installed?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS) in accordance with the Service Information.
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST, 3.2L . .
  No
  - Replace the Battery in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to BATTERY, REMOVAL .
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST, 3.2L . .
