2.2L Diesel Primary

Remove the battery. Refer to BATTERY, REMOVAL .
Remove the engine cover. Refer to the appropriate service article .
Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL .
Drain the engine coolant. Refer to DRAINING .
Remove the thermostat. Refer to THERMOSTAT, REMOVAL .

Unlock and disconnect the two Powertrain Control Module (PCM) wire harness connectors (1) from the PCM (2).

Disconnect the Differential Pressure Sensor (DPS) wire harness connector (3).
Remove the nut (1) and the DPS (2) from bracket and position side.

Disconnect the EGR valve wire harness connector (1).

Lift the clip and disconnect the quick coupling coolant hose (1).

Loosen the clamps and disconnect the DPS hoses (1) to the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC)/Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).

Remove the bolts (1a) and nuts (1b) securing the EGR cooler.

Remove the studs (1) and the EGR cooler assembly.

Remove and discard the gasket (2).
If necessary, remove the bolts and the DPS tubing (1).

If necessary, remove the screw and the water delivery pipe (1) from the cooler complete with O-rings.
