Section 48 (Engine Cooling System): Engine: Thermostat: Installation: 3.2L

CAUTION:
The Thermostat and housing is serviced as an assembly. Do not remove the thermostat from the housing, damage to the thermostat may occur.
- Clean mating areas of timing chain cover and thermostat housing (1).
- Install a NEW
gasket on to the thermostat housing.
- Install thermostat housing (2) and tighten the bolts (4) to 12 N.m (9 ft. lbs.).
- Install upper radiator hose (3) on thermostat housing.
- Fill cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Install the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
- Start and warm the engine. Check for leaks.
