Bottle, Pressurized Coolant: Removal: Gas

WARNING:

Do not remove cylinder block drain plugs, pressure caps, or loosen radiator draincock with system hot and under pressure. Serious burns from coolant can occur.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the coolant level below the coolant recovery bottle. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the return hose (2).
  5. Remove the bolt (4).
  6. Remove the body harness retainer (5) from the stud bolt.
  7. Remove the stud bolt.
  8. Remove the lower heater supply hose.
  9. Remove the coolant recovery bottle from the strut tower.
