Belt, Serpentine: Removal: Diesel

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the right front wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to REMOVAL .
    CAUTION:

    Do not allow the tensioner to snap back to the unloaded position. Damage to the tensioner may occur.

  3. Using a wrench, rotate the belt tensioner until the locking pin can be installed.
  4. Remove the accessory drive belt (1).
