Belt, Serpentine: Installation: 2.4L

  1. Install the serpentine drive belt (5) by positioning the belt over all of the pulleys with the exception of the tensioner pulley.
  2. Rotate the tensioner center bolt counterclockwise to allow the belt to be installed onto the tensioner pulley.
  3. Slowly release the tensioner and allow it to adjust in a clockwise manner.
  4. Visually inspect the belt to pulley alignment.
  5. Start the engine and allow to run at idle momentarily. Shut the engine off and reinspect the belt alignment.
  6. Install the air cleaner body Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .

  7. Install the engine cover.
