Tube, Fuel Tank Filler: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove fuel cap.
  3. Remove the right rear inner splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, REAR WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL .

  4. Disconnect the fuel tube vent line (1) quick connect fitting and detach from retainer (2). Refer to FITTING, QUICK CONNECT  .

    Remove filler tube mounting bracket nut (2).

  5. Loosen the hose clamp (2) and remove the fuel filler tube (3) from the fuel tank (1).
  6. Remove fuel filler tube from the fuel door housing assembly by pulling straight down to separate the tube from the housing opening.
