Seal, Crankshaft Oil, Front: Removal

  1. Remove the serpentine belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the crankshaft vibration damper. Refer to DAMPER, VIBRATION, REMOVAL .
  3. Install the sleeve (2) from Seal Remover (special tool #8511, Remover, Seal) around the flywheel key (1) and onto the nose of the crankshaft.

  4. Thread the Seal Remover (special tool #8511, Remover, Seal) (1) into the front crankshaft oil seal (2).

  5. Install the extractor screw (2) into the Seal Remover (special tool #8511, Remover, Seal) (1). Hold the seal remover stationary and tighten the extractor screw against the sleeve until the front crankshaft oil seal (3) is removed from the engine timing cover.
