Diagnostic Test

VERIFY THE DTC IS ACTIVE
NOTE:
If any other DTCs are present, repair them first before continuing with this diagnostic procedure.
1. Perform any Service Bulletins that may apply.
2. Turn the ignition on.
3. With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
4. Cycle the ignition from off to on.
5. Press and hold the brake pedal.
6. Push the EPB Switch down to release the Electric Parking Brakes.
7. Pull the EPB Switch up to set the Electric Parking Brakes.
8. Push the EPB Switch down to release the Electric Parking Brakes.
9. Release the brake pedal.
10. Cycle the ignition from off to on.
11. With the scan tool, read EPB DTCs.
  Is the DTC active at this time?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension and repair as necessary. If no problems are found, test complete.
  - Perform the EPB VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
CHECK THE (F941) FUSED RUN/START CONTROL OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT CIRCUIT
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (F941) Fused Run/Start Control Output circuit.
  Does the test light illuminate brightly?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) Module in accordance with service information. Refer to MODULE, ELECTRIC PARK BRAKE (EPBM), REMOVAL .
  - Perform the EPB VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  No
  - Repair the (F941) Fused Run/Start Control Output circuit for an open or short.
  - Perform the EPB VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
