Diagnostic Test

  1. VERIFY THE DTC IS ACTIVE 
    NOTE:

    If multiple DTCs are present, inspect the wiring and harness connector at the EPB Module.

    NOTE:

    If the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) Module was replaced, verify that the correct EPB Module was installed on the vehicle.

    1. Perform any Service Bulletins that may apply.
    2. Turn the ignition on.
    3. With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
    4. Cycle the ignition from off to on.
    5. Press and hold the brake pedal.
    6. Push the EPB Switch down to release the Electric Parking Brakes.
    7. Pull the EPB Switch up to set the Electric Parking Brakes.
    8. Push the EPB Switch down to release the Electric Parking Brakes.
    9. Release the brake pedal.
    10. Cycle the ignition from off to on.
    11. With the scan tool, read EPB DTCs.

      Is the DTC active at this time?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension and repair as necessary. If no problems are found, test complete.
  2. LOST COMMUNICATION DTCS 
    1. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

      Are there any Lost Communication DTCs present?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) PROXI ALIGNMENT 
    1. Using the scan tool, perform the PROXI Alignment routine in the BCM.

      Was the BCM PROXI Alignment routine successful?

      Yes 

      No
