Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC) DTCs
1. Perform any Service Bulletins that may apply.
2. Turn the ignition on.
3. With the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.
  Are there any ORC related DTCs present?
  
  Yes
  - Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Refer to OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC) - DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
  No
  - Go To 2
PERFORM THE G SENSOR ALIGNMENT ROUTINE
NOTE:
The G-Sensor Alignment routine must be performed on a level surface with no movement to the vehicle (including engine running).
1. With the scan tool, in the EPB Module under "Miscellaneous Functions" select the Service Tab.
2. With the scan tool, perform the "G-Sensor Alignment" routine.
  Was the routine successful?
  
  Yes
  - The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension and repair as necessary. If no problems are found, test complete.
  - Perform the EPB VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  No
  - Perform the G-Sensor Alignment routine again, if still unsuccessful.
  - Go To 3
VERIFY THE DTC IS ACTIVE
1. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
2. Cycle the ignition from off to on.
3. Press and hold the brake pedal.
4. Push the EPB Switch down to release the Electric Parking Brakes.
5. Pull the EPB Switch up to set the Electric Parking Brakes.
6. Push the EPB Switch down to release the Electric Parking Brakes.
7. Release the brake pedal.
8. Cycle the ignition from off to on.
9. With the scan tool, read EPB DTCs.
  Does the DTC remain active?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) Module in accordance with Service Information. Refer to MODULE, ELECTRIC PARK BRAKE (EPBM), REMOVAL .
  - Perform the EPB VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  No
  - Test complete.
