One Speed - Installation

Clean and inspect the sealing surface on the output shaft:
- If the seal surface (2) is damaged, install a NEW output shaft.
- If the seal bore is damaged it will be necessary to replace the RDU.

Install the output seal (1) onto the (special tool #10117, Installer, Seal) (2).

Install the output seal using (special tool #10117, Installer, Seal) (1).
Install the output shaft into the Rear Drive Unit (RDU).

Install a new circlip (2) onto the output shaft (1).
If replacing BOTH axle seals for RDU installation after installing the NEW axle seals. Refer to INSTALLATION .
Install the halfshaft shim on the hub end of the halfshaft.
NOTE:
Use care when installing the halfshaft into the RDU. The halfshaft installation angle should be minimized to avoid damage to the seal upon installation.

NOTE:
Lightly apply a light grease to the splines prior to installing halfshaft.
Install the halfshaft (2) into the RDU (1).
NOTE:
Be sure the halfshaft is installed fully into the RDU by trying to remove it from the RDU, if it cannot be removed by hand it is fully installed.
Install the rear knuckle. Refer to KNUCKLE, REAR, INSTALLATION .
Fill the differential fluid. Refer to FLUID, DIFFERENTIAL, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
