Hub And Bearing: Removal

NOTE:

Before proceeding, Refer to WARNING .

Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Remove the wheel mounting bolts, then the tire and wheel assembly.

While a helper applies the brakes to keep the hub from rotating, remove the hub nut (1) from the halfshaft (if equipped) (2) and DISCARD it. The used hub nut is not reusable.
Access and remove the rear brake rotor Refer to REAR BRAKE ROTOR, REMOVAL .

Remove the rear wheel speed sensor retaining bolt (6) and remove the sensor (5) from the knuckle.

Remove the four bolts (1) fastening the hub and bearing to the knuckle.
NOTE:
The bolts are one time use and need to be DISCARDED.
Slide the hub and bearing off the halfshaft (if equipped) and out of the knuckle.
