Evaporator, A/C: Removal

  1. Remove the HVAC housing and place it on a workbench. Refer to HOUSING, HVAC, REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the heater core. Refer to CORE, HEATER, REMOVAL .

  3. Disconnect the wire harness connectors (3).
  4. Remove the HVAC wiring harness (1).
  5. Remove the HVAC housing retaining screws (2).

  6. Disengage the six retaining clips (1) securing the lower section of the HVAC housing (3) to the upper HVAC housing (2).

  7. After all of the retaining clips have been disengaged, remove the lower section (1) of the HVAC housing.

  8. Disengage the retaining clips securing the front section of the HVAC housing (1) to the rear section of the HVAC housing (2).
  9. After all of the retaining clips have been disengaged, separate the two sections of the HVAC housing.

  10. Remove the retaining screws (1) from the air inlet housing.
  11. Remove the air inlet housing from the HVAC housing.

  12. Remove the retaining screws (1) from the blower motor housing (2).
  13. Remove the blower motor housing from the HVAC housing (3).

  14. Remove the tubing cover (2) from the HVAC housing (1).

  15. Slide the evaporator tubes (3) out of the HVAC housing (2) and remove the evaporator (1).
