Camshaft Sprocket

NOTE:
Do not use an impact wrench to tighten the camshaft sprocket bolt. Damage to the camshaft dowel pin and camshaft may occur.
- Install the chain onto the sprocket (2), insert the bolt (1).
- Using a wrench to hold the camshaft flats (1) tighten the sprocket bolt to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Verify that the valve timing is correct. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Install the engine timing cover. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- If removed, install the oil filter and fill the engine crankcase with the proper oil to the correct level. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
- Install the resonator. .
- Install the engine cover.
- Run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. Check cooling system for correct fluid level. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
NOTE:
The Cam/Crank Variation Relearn procedure must be performed using the scan tool anytime there has been a repair/replacement made to a powertrain system, for example: flywheel, valvetrain, camshaft and/or crankshaft sensors or components.
