Tray, Battery: Removal: Diesel

  1. Remove the battery. Refer to BATTERY, REMOVAL .

  2. Remove the Power Distribution Center (PDC) (3) and position aside.

  3. Detach the hood release cable from battery tray.
  4. Remove the wiring harness retainer (1) from the battery tray (2).

  5. Remove the upper battery tray bolt (2).
  6. Partially raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  7. Remove the front left side tire.

  8. Remove the inner wheel splash shield (1).
  9. Remove the battery tray outer side rail bolt.
  10. Remove the bolt (2) that secures the washer solvent bottle to the battery tray (1).
  11. Raise the vehicle.

  12. Remove the lower belly pan.

  13. Remove the bolts (3) that secure the battery tray (1) to the inner frame rail (2).
  14. Lower the vehicle.
  15. Using care, remove the battery tray from the vehicle by rotating the tray.
