Indicator, Seat Belt Reminder (SBR): Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the overhead console (1) from the headliner. Refer to CONSOLE, OVERHEAD, FRONT, REMOVAL .
  3. If equipped, remove the Ultrasonic and Antitilt Module (UAM) from the overhead console. Refer to MODULE, ULTRASONIC AND ANTI-TILT, REMOVAL .
  4. Disconnect the overhead console wire harness connector (2) from the Seat Belt Reminder (SBR) indicator (3) connector receptacle.
  5. Using a trim stick or another suitable wide flat-bladed tool, carefully and evenly pry each outboard end of the SBR away from the overhead console housing until all four spring clips are free.
  6. Remove the SBR indicator from the overhead console.
