Section 27 (Vehicle Theft Security (Service Information)): Siren: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine air cleaner housing from the right side of the engine compartment. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL .
  3. Locate the alarm siren module (3) on the engine compartment side of the Front End Module (FEM) carrier (2), below the upper radiator cross member (1) between the right side of the cooling module and the back of the right front lamp unit housing.
  4. Disconnect the FEM wire harness connector (4) from the connector receptacle for the siren.
  5. Remove the appearance shield from the upper radiator cross member.
  6. From the front of the FEM carrier, remove the nut that secures the siren to the FEM carrier located between the right side of the cooling module and the right front lamp unit housing.
  7. Remove the siren from the engine compartment side of the FEM carrier.
