Section 26 (Starting System (Service Information)): Starter: Installation: 2.4L

- Install the starter into position.
- Start the upper bolt by hand.
- Start the lower bolt by hand.
- Tighten the upper and lower bolts to the proper. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the battery cable (2) onto the starter and install the nut. Torque the nut to the proper Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the starter electrical connector (1).
- If equipped with AWD, install the intake manifold assembly. Refer to MANIFOLD, INTAKE, INSTALLATION, 2.4L .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
