Sunshade, Sunroof: Removal

NOTE:
Use clean gloves or make sure your hands are clean before removing and installing the sunshade.
REMOVAL
- Review the removal and installation video for greater detail.
- Remove the front sunroof glass. Refer to GLASS, SUNROOF, REAR, REMOVAL .
- Release the ends (2) of the drain trough (1) from the guide (3) at each end, then push the drain trough forward and remove.
- Press the sunroof switch and put the front glass guide in the flat position.
- Remove the six rear glass screws (1).
- Carefully slide the rear glass panel (1) forward to gain access to the sunshade (2).
- Position the sunshade about 3 inches forward, from the full open position.
- By hand, twist the guide bar (1) forward to release it and slide off the spring (2) and remove.
- Pull slightly on the sunshade fabric to align the sunshade axle hole (1) with the hole in the sunshade (2) and install a pin (3) made from a large paper clip or equivalent. This locks the sunshade tension spring.
- Using a pick tool, Insert it into the slot on the guide (2) and rotate it rearward to release the tension bar from the guides.
- If necessary, use a small flat bladed tool (1). Twist the tool and release the sunshade beam by rotating the tool down and back.
- Repeat on each side.
- Roll the tension bar off the guide brackets at each end.
- Push the sunshade fabric rearward and out of the side rails completely.
- Grasp the sunshade (1) and rotate it off the right pivot bracket (2), then lift it up and over the pivot bracket.
- Pull the right end of the sunshade forward slightly, then full it out of the left pivot bracket to completely remove.
