Hinge, Hood: Installation

- If necessary, paint the new hinge (2) before installation.
- Using the reference marks made in removal, align and position the hood hinge (2) on the vehicle.
- Install the bolts (2) to attach hood hinge to load beam inner. Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (7 ft. lbs.) torque.
- Align the hood with the reference marks made during removal.
- Install the bolts (2, 3) to attach the hood to the hinge.
- Align all marks and secure bolts.
- Tighten the bolts to 21 N.m (16 ft. lbs.) torque.
- Install the support cylinder back onto the hinge. Refer to PROP, GAS, INSTALLATION .
- If necessary, adjust the hood hinge positions and the hood adjuster bumpers to achieve proper spacing and operation. Refer toGAP AND FLUSH, SPECIFICATIONS . Shims can be added or removed under hood hinge to achieve proper hood height.
- Install cowl cover. Refer to COVER, COWL PANEL, INSTALLATION .
- Verify hood latch operation. Adjust as necessary.
