Fender, Front: Removal

- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the front wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, REAR WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL .
- Remove the eight fasteners (2) from the upper fascia closeout panel (1).
- Remove the upper fascia closeout panel (1) from the vehicle.
- Remove the fasteners from the front fascia support bracket (2).
- Position the bracket to allow access to the front fender fastener.
- Accessing from within the wheelhouse, remove the fascia to fender fastener (1).
- Carefully pull out on the upper and lower fascia sides to disengage the fascia retaining tabs.
- Remove the fender to cowl mucket by pulling up at the end of the fender to cowl mucket at the cowl panel joint and then pulling the fender to cowl mucket out of the fender.
- Remove the fasteners (1) from the fender.
- Remove the fasteners (1) from the fender.
- Remove the fasteners (1) from the fender.
- From within the rear area of the wheel house, remove the two fasteners (1) from the fender seal (2).
- Remove the fasteners (1) securing the fender to the outer load path beam.
- With the use of a plastic putty knife or equivalent, separate the adhesive (1) between the fender (2) and the hinge pillar.
- Remove the fender (1) from the vehicle.
