DECKLID / Hatch / Liftgate / Tailgate / Swing Gate: Liftgate: Adjustments: In/Out

NOTE:

The position of the lift gate can be adjusted upward or downward by the use of slots in the hinge. An inward or outward adjustment is achieved by use of slots in the body. If an inward or outward adjustment is needed, use a body sealer on the hinge to body mating surface.

Remove the upper quarter trim panels and lower the rear of the headliner to access the hinge fasteners. Refer to PANEL, QUARTER TRIM, REMOVAL .
For the upper lift gate adjustments, loosen the six hinge to header fasteners (2 and 3) and adjust to specifications Refer toGAP AND FLUSH, SPECIFICATIONS .
Tighten the hinge bolts to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs.).

For the lower lift gate adjustments, remove lifgate scuff trim, Refer to PLATE, SCUFF, LIFTGATE, INSTALLATION .
Loosen the striker screws (2) and adjust to specifications Refer to GAP AND FLUSH .
Tighten the striker screws to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs.).
Position the upper rear headliner trim and seat fully.
Position liftgate scuff plate trim and seat fully.
Install the upper quarter trim panels. Refer to PANEL, QUARTER TRIM, INSTALLATION .
