Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read Transmission Control Module (TCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.
- Record the Event Data and Environmental Data.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Event and Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK FOR OTHER SENSOR DTCS
- With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.
Are there other sensor or sensor power supply DTCs set?
Yes
- Check the (F894) 5 Volt Supply B circuit for an open or short to ground. If no problem is found, and using the schematics as a guide, check the TCM connector and all related in-line connector terminals for corrosion, damage, or pushed out terminals. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace and program the TCM in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to C635 DDCT TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.
- CHECK THE (T3) GATE SELECT POSITION SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Gate Select Position Sensor harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage on the (T3) Gate Select Position signal circuit.
Is the voltage above 0.5 of a volt?
Yes
- Repair the (T3) Gate Select Position Signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to C635 DDCT TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 4
- GATE THE (T191) SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect the TCM C2 harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the (T191) Sensor ground circuit between the Gate Select Position Sensor and the TCM C2 harness connector.
Is the resistance above 3.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (T191) Sensor ground circuit for an open.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to C635 DDCT TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Gate Select Position Sensor.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to C635 DDCT TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
