Engine Cradle CROSSMEMBER: Removal

- Install engine support tool 8534 or equivalent.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the lower control arms. (Refer to SUSPENSION/FRONT/LOWER CONTROL ARM - REMOVAL)
- Remove the sway bar. (Refer to SUSPENSION/FRONT/STABILIZER BAR - REMOVAL)
- Remove the front axle, if equipped. Refer toREMOVAL
- Remove the power steering rack. (Refer to STEERING/GEAR - REMOVAL)
- Loosen the engine mount through bolts. See Fig 1.
1 - ENGINE MOUNT 2 - THROUGH BOLT 3 - ENGINE CRADLE CROSSMEMBER - Support the engine cradle with a suitable lifting device.
- Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the location of the engine support cradle.
- Remove the engine cradle support bolts and remove the engine cradle. See Fig 2.
